Bougainvilla- A Riot Of Colors Blooming Around You

Bougainville is a species of flowering plant from Southern America from Brazil in the west to Peru and in the southern Argentina. It has about 4 to 18 different species.

The plant is thrombi, woody and has vine type which grows anywhere and has length of 1 to 12 meters. The plant is such which grows on other plant with thrombi spikes. The spikes are of black color vine with waxy substance. The plant is evergreen also seen in the deciduous if dry nature is there. Leaf is alternate, simple-ovate and its size- 4 to 13 cm long and 2 to 6 cm broad. Bougainville – A Riot of Colors comes in an array of variety through which you can decorate your home, garden and even rooms.

Main part of the flower is a bit tiny one with white color and is surrounded by 3 to 6 layers known as paper flower. Plant has been found by a European with many other people with him during their voyage navigation in 1789.

The plant is usually worm free but sometime it is been affected by them along with the snails. The outcome of some species also used as food plant.

USES: Bougainville is very popular in warm climates in the places like Switzerland where it has been famous as Bougainvillea and also called as an ornament.

In US it has been used as house plants or as hanging cleft in chill region. It is also been used in the landscape especially in the hot season plant and very good in the warm temperate as the protective cleft in the house. It has a very good tendency to absorb the salt which makes it a good option in the coastal regions. It grows along the fences which also makes a good show as in interior decoration.

Presently the Bougainville is result of the interbreeding of the different species. At now there are almost 300 different varieties in the world of Bougainville. Due to this many of the species are being difficult to find for their origin over several generations.

Even the species are been naturally available which occur fast and fast, this had created a problem of several names for the same species.

GROWTH: The growth depends upon the tedious to spontaneous depending upon on what type of species has been used up. In the equatorial region the flowering is seen whole year. At some places it is seasonal and some it is evergreen which again depends upon the species used. The best is seen with dry soil with a good sun and good fertilization with least water once it is planted. But if the water is excess then it won’t grow well or even don’t grow up. So water is given according to the need.

Bonsai technology has been used in this to keep the plant small, so it is been used well in the interior decoration for house. Even via cutting they can be maintain well.
